I’m stressed! Who’s with me on that one?
In addition to being the Macaroni Kid Publisher for the Easthampton/South Hadley/Southampton area, I also operate a small retail business (Mary Ann’s Dance and More), am a wife and mother of two (age 25 yrs. and age 10 yrs. who is on the Autism Spectrum).To say I’m stressed is an understatement.
I know that I am not alone – being a working mother in 2019 is more of a challenge than perhaps our mothers faced. Fitting in all the therapies and extra-curricular activities for my son, there isn’t much “me time” left for a shower, never mind “self-care”.
Well, the youngest started school on August 29th and I took the day off to do something for ME! Call it a mental health day or just a day to prepare for the upcoming busy season in my retail business, whatever, I had nothing planned. And trust me, I’m a planner.
What did I do, I texted my favorite massage therapist, Patty Gates of Transformational Massage in Northampton, and hoped she had an opening. She did!
Can I tell you, that hour was more amazing than ever? I’ll be honest; I’ve had massages elsewhere because of scheduling issues. But I will always recommend Patty. She has the ability to find and address my stress areas before I even tell her. Patty’s massages are relaxing and after that hour, I felt like a new woman! Ok, I felt so relaxed I was like “Jell-O”. I even asked myself why don’t I do this more often?
Patty has very reasonable rates and over 20 years of experience. If you’ve been in a car accident, she is able to bill your insurance.
