By Mary Ann Hanlon, Publisher Mom, Macaroni Kid Easthampton/Southampton/South Hadley April 29, 2020

What is your name? What are your children's names and ages?

Erin Roth – I have two daughters: Ashlyn, 11, and Ainsley 3.

What inspired/encouraged you to start your business?

A few things.  I was in the beauty industry before my children were born. After I had my first child, I took a step back to take care of her.  I eventually came back as an esthetician and created my own bath and body line.  They inspire me to never give up.  That is why I have named m bath and body line after them – ashain Apothecary.

What do you love about your work?

The reaction from people when they get a facial or use a product from the bath and body line.

What advice do you have for others wanting to start a business?

Patience!  I have none so this is something I struggle with every day.  But lots of patience and there will be tears.  When you think something isn’t going right, that is when some of the best things happen.

What do you do to take care of yourself and how do you make time to do it?

At least an hour to myself every week – reading, watching a movie, and believe it or not cleaning.  Cleaning is an outlet for me and organizing.

What can we do to support you in the community?

I use a lot of social media.  Sharing posts and engaging them is helpful.  Also word of mouth.  Purchasing products is also very helpful.

Favorite spot to take your children around town?

We really just love going for drives.  We will drive pretty much anywhere.  We love the scenery.  There is nothing better than driving on a warm sunny day with the windows down and the music up!
